What Bangalore taught me about audacity
A few years back, I spent close to 2 years in Bangalore because of work.
During that period, I happened to meet a lot of founders, millionaires and ultra rich people. Many of them were first generation entrepreneurs who had built everything from scratch.
One incident I still remember very clearly.
I had taken one of my clients out for dinner. During the conversation, I randomly got to know that he was founder of a publicly listed company 😅
And honestly, if you saw him sitting there, you would never guess it.
Very normal person. Very grounded. No show off.
Over those 2 years, I met many more such people. And one common pattern I noticed among almost all of them was this:
They had audacity.
Not necessarily extraordinary intelligence.
Not over-optimisation.
Not spending months thinking about every possible outcome.
They simply had the courage to do things.
They took action aggressively.
They made decisions fast.
They were comfortable being uncomfortable.
And most importantly, they did not overthink themselves into inaction.
Spending time around such people changed me a lot personally.
I realised how much our environment shapes us. When you constantly stay around people who are building, taking risks and thinking big, somewhere your own thinking also starts expanding.
This phase genuinely helped me come out of my own overthinking zone.
I still have a long way to go in life, but one thing definitely changed:
I became far more action oriented than before.
People really underestimate how much the company you keep affects your mindset, ambition and confidence… more
